Today we were introduced to the first design cycle of our Grade 10 year. The aim of this design cycle is to produce a computer based solution to a problem. I already know that my client will be Paul, so that is sorted. In addition to researching this issue and relating it to the AOI, I will need to interview Paul to see what he needs help on.

I want to create a tutorial on my favourite site; Tumblr. Luckily, Paul doesn’t mind a tutorial on Tumblr – and I gave him valid reasons as to why he would want a tutorial on Tumblr, and he has agreed. I will be making a tutorial on Tumblr although I do not know my presentation format as of yet. Today I rewrote the challenge in my own words and connected the topic to the AOI.

Today I researched different methods to present my tutorial information. The ones I came up with were video, website and document. Although website is the hardest I am up for the challenge. I’m sure I will be able to master Dreamweaver over the course of the project. After deciding on creating a website I went on to research different aspects of Dreamweaver. I then came up with design specifications and a design brief.

Ms. Shameela gave us feedback on our Investigations and I had to go back and connect the AOI with the task, and not the conceptual topic. I also added detail to my design specifications while expanding on my design brief.

I returned from Bangalore yesterday. Today I did my entire Design. I drew my Designs on paper and analysed them on a word document. Tomorrow at school I will scan the hand drawn designs onto my document before submitting them.

I have missed two weeks of work, firstly due to my trip to Bangalore and secondly I came down with the flu almost as soon as I returned to school and stayed away for another week and a half. My state made me unable to complete any work, therefore I had not yet started my Plan. Today however, I finished the entire Plan in one class enabling me to begin my product during the next class.

I began my product today – a website on Dreamweaver. I just cannot figure out Dreamweaver despite Shashwat trying to teach me. It is so incredibly complex and perplexing. However I hope further research on this program will allow me to counter this issue.

I have given up on trying to use Dreamweaver. It just isn’t for me. Dreamweaver is for extremely technologically advanced people who know things like html like the back of their hands. I’m going to make my website on the online program Wix.

Today I found out Ms. Shameela told us that it was compulsory for us to make our websites from scratch. It’s too late now though, I’ve almost finished my website on Wix and I do not have the time or patience to get through Dreamweaver.

I finished my website, and lost it as Mozilla Firefox crashed. I’m so frustrated I’m just going to sleep instead of trying to cure my frustration by procrastinating on Facebook. I e-mailed Ms. Shameela notifying her of my dilemma. I hope I can turn the website in on Thursday instead of tomorrow.

I couldn’t get anything done in class as Wix refused to function on the school computers. However, I did go home and redo my entire website – which is what I’ve been doing for the past few hours. Tomorrow I intend to begin and finish my Evaluate during the double period.

Today I finished my Evaluate. However, I shall not submit it in case there is room for improvement. I have shown it to Ms. Shameela and made the necessary adjustments, however I still feel as if there's something missing.
